Hendred Stores

 High Street

Hendred Stores is a traditional village shop with a 21st century touch, reflected in its products and services. The shop is at the heart of the village and is often used as a  meeting place and a resource for community information.

It is open seven days a week from 6am to 7pm Monday to Friday, 7am to 6.30pm Saturday and 7am to 1pm Sunday.

Andrew and Joanne Bunting bought the village shop business as a going concern in May 1999.

The previous owners were Helen and Christian Noll who had successfully re-established the business after a period of closure.

At the time of the purchase, Jean Murphy (Helen’s mum) was running the Post Office as a separate business within the shop.  Jean took early retirement in May 2000 to spend more time with her grandchildren.  Since this time, the Post Office has remained closed, as Post Office Counters have been unsuccessful in recruiting a new Postmaster/Mistress.   The village remains hopeful that this situation will be resolved in 2001.
