At the end of December there was a special exhibition
at Snells Hall to show what East Hendred did over Millennium year. Ten
village organisations took part and provided photographs and items to
demonstrate what they achieved during the year. Dame Jennifer Jenkins
kindly opened the exhibition and inaugurated the recently revamped village
web site, the home page of which was projected onto a screen in the hall.
A small grant from the Millennium Commission provided funds to hire a
digital projector for the period.
On the evening of Friday 29th a special showing was
given of videos of historic village events, including some of photographs
dating back to the early 1900's. During the exhibition the Hendred Heritage
Trust staged a slide show of past village events and village features.
In addition there were also two showings of a video of the village Millennium
events, much enjoyed by those who came along (unfortunately the severe
weather over this period kept many people at home).
On Sunday Dec.31st there was a special presentation
after the morning service at St. Augustine's church of a video made of
the ecumenical Christingle service in Dec. 2000.
