The Plough Fun Run began in 1991, organised by Bill Sheehan, as the licensee of the Plough Inn. Proceeds from the event go to local charities.

The course starts and finishes at the Plough and goes through Chapel Square, back along Cat Street, down Fordy Lane then up and across the Furlong to West Hendred then back across footpaths, down Newbury Road, and returning to the Plough via Horn Lane, Ford Lane and Cat Street once again.

Each entrant to finish the course of approximately 3.5 miles receives a medal, and the winners of each of the separate categories is presented with a cup. This year the event had over 50 entrants.
