No more Concorde flights |
|||||
| For
many years since the late 1970's, villagers had heard and seen Concorde
flying over twice a day on scheduled flights to New York. It was instantly
recognisable by its unique shape and the sound -much louder than other aircraft
overhead.
On 25th July, 2000, one of Air France's Concorde fleet crashed just after take-off from Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris, killing more than 100 people. |

| British Airways Concorde flights were suspended on 15th August and had not restarted by the end of 2000. | |||||
