Jean Murphy ran the Hendred Post Office, a separate business within Hendred Stores, for 5 years, initially while her daughter Helen ran the shop and later after the Buntings took over. | |

handed in her notice in February 2000, but confusing advertising by the
Post Office delayed recruitment and no replacement had been found by
May.

| Efforts to recruit a new Postmaster/mistress continued throughout 2000, and we are still hopeful that the Post Office will reopen in 2001. | |||||
