Purpose of organisation    To provide sporting facilities for the village (cricket, football and tennis). To manage the pavilion and ground to allow members' clubs to organise their respective sports fixtures.

  Brief history of organisation

In the 1950's the club existed, using 'The Park' as its base. It moved to the 'Rec' in Mill Lane in the late 1950's/early 1960's after the sports ground was donated to the village by the Coates family. The new pavilion was built in 1980, and extended in 1992. It offers good facilities for the teams, as well as for social events, and includes a bar. The ground is maintained by a small group from the Club on a regular basis. Equipment includes a tractor, mowing machines, cylinder mowers and other specialised equipment. It is considered generally as a high standard and well maintained village facility. The Hendred cricket ground and facilities were voted by visiting teams in 2000 as the best in the Oxfordshire league.
