Purpose of organisation    Local branch of the largest women's organisation in the UK.
           
  Brief history of organisation    East Hendred WI has been running in the village for 80 years, although membership has dropped from over 100 in the early years.
           
  Where and when   Once a month in Snells Hall.
           
  Special events for Millennium year    A collage map of several key features in the village was prepared by 4 members of the WI (Sue Mulford, Monica Stoter, Betty Beechey, Betty Bushnell). It was unveiled at a special Millennium event in Snells Hall on April 8th, and is now permanently installed on show in Snells Hall.
