| Brief history of organisation | The
football club dates back to the 1800's, but the present format of two
Saturday teams and one Sunday team has been in operation for the last 7/8
years.
Since 1998 the Club has built up strong links with Hendreds' twin village of Sarceaux in Normandy, competing regularly in their annual 6-a-side tournament in June. In addition a full team has played the Sarceaux team , both in France and in the UK. |
||||
| How often meet and where | Matches played on Saturdays and Sundays at the Hendreds Sports ground and away, during the season. Social events also organised. | ||||
| Special events for Millennium year |
The first team won the North Berks Cup for the first time in the club's history, which was a major achievement. Goals from Stuart Bristow, Kieron Day, Matthew Launchbury and Chris Pettis secured a 4-1 victory against Shrivenham. The Sunday team finished as runners-up in the Autotype Upper Thames Valley League Division 1. End of season Player of the Year Dinner & Dance, when the North Berks Cup, runner up medals, and AFC own trophies were on show. Friendly match on New Year's day 2000. |
